Re: Creation of soundbanks: findings and questions

Hi Erik and Panos, Here are some Noise Reduction steps for using Nick's NR tool (I posted these on the jOrgan forum and originally wrote them for a friend in the USA who is sampling his church organ): ------------------------- 1) Make sure you have the latest version (currently http://www.appletonau...

Re: Creation of soundbanks: findings and questions

Hi Eric, Thanks for this wonderful post!! Q. Is there a plan to have GrandOrgue play 24-bit and up to 96khz? A. Yes, currently we are testing and bug fixing GrandOrgue 0.3 which has the ASM (Assembly Machine code) removed from the source code that was specific to 16-bit, 44.1khz. Once this is stable...

Re: best reverb parameters for headphones

Hi Merez, If you're in Linux (yeah!!) and running GrandOrgue with Jack then I'd recommend jconvolve and its nice frontend - jcgui (http://jcgui.sourceforge.net/). Reverb is, however, more a matter of personal preference, so I can only tell you what I enjoy. I use the small chapel reverb most of the ...

Re: Jeux d'orgues with Hauptwerk 3

Hi Merez, There are two Jeux d'orgues HW1 sets... the original one created by Jonathan Orwig in the early days, and the updated one created by members of this forum (with a lot of work by me, Joseph, and a few others). The updated version was also released as a HW3 sample set, so both the HW1 update...

Re: best reverb parameters for headphones

Hi Merez, Could you tell us a little more about how you are using the Jeux d'orgues samples (MyOrgan/GrandOrgue, Gigastudio, Hauptwerk, Soundfont) and a bit about your computer and soundcard? This will give us a better idea of what to suggest. For some it is as simple as enabling the reverb settings...

Re: Jeux d'orgues with Hauptwerk 3

If you're using Hauptwerk then I'd suggest downloading the HW3 version (http://www.jeuxdorgues.com/files/Jeuxdorgues2.CompPkg.Hauptwerk.rar) and using the Hauptwerk 'Install Organ' from the Menu. This will have all the files that are needed, as well as the organ look and feel. Let us know if you nee...

Re: Beta2 Release of Stiehr-Mockers for HW3

Hi Ken,

Thanks for the feedback :) I'll see what I can do for getting more Generals into the extended version. Have you tried Les' 'extra extended' version (http://forum.hauptwerk.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6679)?

Re: Beta2 Release of Stiehr-Mockers for HW3

Hi Ken, This is a Hauptwerk setting that needs be configured... you basically need to tell Hauptwerk to load the last used set of combinations, then create your combinations, save them, and they should be there the next time you reload. So 1) In Hauptwerk, top Menu, click on Organ Settings -> Genera...

Re: Comment tester une soundfont sous linux ?

Hi Jean-Marc,

I replied with a brief message on the jOrgan forum... perhaps it would be easier to contact me on my home email (ggoode.sa [at] gmail [dot] com).
