New free sampleset for GrandOrgue!

Hi! Together with Graham and Panos I've created a new sampleset for the latest development version of GrandOrgue. It's a 3 manual + pedal instrument with 35 stops as well as lots of couplers. The original instrument resides in Piteå School of Music, Sweden. Thanks to the recent developments of GO, w...

Re: French harmonium

Well, my first thought was most of getting the sound experience (even if admittedly not the exact playing experience) of how the music written for such instruments might sound. This is important to understand how to translate the pieces to another instrument like for instance the organ. (The divisio...

Re: French harmonium

Hi! Yes, I know about the dynamic of the "expression" (that's one of the things that made the instrument popular). But I also know that it's perfectly possible to disable the expression if one wished. (The expression actually disabled the reservoir so that the player feeded the air directl...

French harmonium

Hi! I've got a suggestion for a project I'd find very interesting. Complete, note for note, sampling of a standard french harmonium of the kind César Franck composed L'Organiste for. Loads of other music also made for such instruments. Here in Sweden we have lots of harmoniums also, but it would be ...

Re: Only sound on centre speaker

Hi! I don't have exactly that soundcard, so I cannot give any definitve advice. However I think you can have some success if you enter the connect button in QJackctl, then in Audio tab, check that the Rt port (from GrandOrgue) is connected to the right System output ports in the right list. Do expan...

Re: Virtual Keyboard for GrandOrgue

Hi! It's certainly possible to use vmpk for MIDI input to GrandOrgue. Make sure you start vmpk before starting GO and in the audio settings dialog make sure you have vmpk checked for MIDI input. Then it's possibly some settings in vmpk to adjust what channel it sends on etc. (actually it's possible ...

Re: Jeux d'orgues users !

Hi! To sample an organ you don't need to have the most expensive equipment, but you'll need to have patience! To replace faulty notes, fix them or retune them is normally no problem at all. So if you're interested in such a project there's lots of competence around here that can help. I've learned a...

Re: Second beta of Bureå Church sampleset available

Hi! Great that you like it! What kinds of photos would you like? Higher resolution? Different angles? What parts of the organ would be interesting? Inside? I have total access to the organ (since I work there  ) so almoast anything could be arranged. I trust that you have already checked the Or...

Second beta of Bureå Church sampleset available

Hi! Now the beta 2 of Bureå Church sampleset for GrandOrgue is finally uploaded and available for download at http://www.familjenpalo.se/vpo/download as before. But it's quite a bit bigger now! (it's around 1 GB compressed as a 7-zip archive) For the original version the main change is that we've be...

Re: Beta 1 release of Bureå Church

Hi! Thanks for the input. Looks good. But as we are adding quite a few stops, we'll have to see how we'll arrange them in the new extended version, but we can surely add such a version to the package (or try to rearrange the stops in a more 4x3 way). I've been thinking of a more english/ago version ...
